The small punches break too easy. A cheap 1/16" punch from Home depot will last much longer and cost 1/4th.

Don't believe the reviews about these breaking. Roll pins do not take much force to tap in. Just use light, firm taps and the pin will go in and the punch will not break. Just take of your tools and they will take care of you. I bought the 5 piece set for my 1st AR-15 build. I had no problems assembling the lower receiver because I had these, the right tools for the job. Roll pins are the basic building blocks for ARs. I wouldn't try installing them without proper roll pin punches like these. Don't use regular pin punches for that job. These punches were also useful when lining up the trigger and hammer pin holes. The small nipple on the end of the punches really help center them on the roll pins and keep from damaging the pins too. Good price and worth it too.

My 3/32 punch broke the first time I used it. It snapped in half. These punches are sub-standard and I would not recommend these to anyone else.

I gave them two stars because I only have two remaining out of the five, that are still fully functional. The others have either bent severly or just flat out broke. If you plan on using them once or twice to make some modifications to your AR then they'll probably be ok, but if you plan to use them regularly you're wasting your time and money on these. Armorers and smiths, don't even bother; time is money and these will cost you both.

Used three punches. Two of them bent and one snapped in half. Don't waste your time or money on this.

The quality of these punches are good for the price.

One important thing I missed in the description is that there is no #5 (5/32"), which is probably the punch I use the most when working on AR lowers. Just keep this in mind when ordering, the description says "AR-15/M16", but it's not a complete set.

I bought a set of these about 3 years ago and they have been great. None were bent or broken/ wrong size when I recieved them.(Brownells has excellent customer service and would most likely replace them if that were the case.) And after 3 years of use all but the no. 2 are in good shape. The no. 2 now has about a 45 degree bend in the shaft from me trying to use it incorrectly as a pry bar. I will be buying another set and would recomend them. Good quality, good price and when you use the right punch in the right hole they last a long time.

Nothing special here. Unfortunatley, you get what you pay for. The No. 3 punch in my set was already bent when I opened the package. Additionally, the other 3/32 pin punch I purchased from Brownells was mispackaged and incorrectly labeled - nice 1/16 Snap-On punch, but not a No. 3, 3/32 roll pin punch.

Bottom line, If you need a cheap set of roll pin punches and only expect them to be used once or twice, get these, otherwise, do yourself a favor and spend more money for a better quality set, even if you have to buy the ones you need individually.

After ordering these roll pin punches in January, I just got around to needing them. Every punch shaft is bent/angled making alignment on the roll pin difficult. The 1/16 punch didn't last through one job - shaft broke in half. Very disappointed in these punches and Brownells putting their name on them. I will not buy anything made by Mayhew Steel for Brownell's again.

After reading some of the reviews I almost did not purchase this punch set. After opening the package and using these punches they are perfect. As my Dad always said the right tool for the job is the best tool, and that is what these punches are.

Not a single one of these punches arrived straight or anywhere close to straight, keep in mind I had expected the 1/16 to be bent or bend in use but the whole set arrived in various states of crooked I called and asked Brownells what to do and he said to send them back, I didn't bother as I had broken two of them trying to straighten them. I just went and bought a set of craftsman punches and got the job done. If I were Brownells I would take my name off of these punches as I would not be ok with that as a distributor with my name on them.

The punches are not manufactured by Brownells. Bought this set thinking it would be good enough. The three smaller size punches specially arrived crooked. Specially the #3 punch. Called and Brownells offered immediate refund when returned. Will be returning set and ordering the Brownells brand instead. Would not recommend

I have used this set to remove and install roll pins of different sizes in an AR platform rifle. Each time, the pin was removed and re-installed without any damage. As long as the proper diameter punch was used, the pins were easily removed. High quality materials and workmanship.

The Brownells roll pin punch kit is fantastic. It's a high quality set with nice fit and finish. The best part about this set is that if you break any, Brownells will replace them for life. Yes, the tiny ones can break, but that is no different than any other set. If one breaks, Brownells has got you covered. This 5 piece set is everything you need to work on your AR. Finally, it is VERY affordable. For the price, you can't go wrong with this set. The only downside is I wish it came in some sort of pouch, they are just loose punches. Not a big problem overall.

Unfortunately, I broke the 1/6" punch trying to remove my charging handle pin on my AR15. I was careful but the punch, to my complete suprise, shattered. I returned the set for a new one. I will be much, much more careful. It looks like a good set, but it does have limitations.

I've always just used a smaller punch to fit in the indent of a roll pin. BUT these really are the proper tool for the job. Good quality. The reason for three stars is, They are just a set of functional punches, your ordinary tool.

This Roll Pin Punch Set used in conjunction with the Roll Pin Holder Set, was very helpful for a buddy and I building our first Stripped AR15 lower. Keeps the punch centered perfectly on the roll pin eliminating the punch from slipping off and damaging the finish on the gun. We also used them to align parts prior to installing the pins.

Makes installation go much smoother than regular pin punches.

These are the best set of roll pin punches I've used. The quality is excellent.

For the money, this is a perfect addition to the AR-15 toolbox.
