The Best Primer Pocket Cleaner Tool 02-07-2018

I'm not positively sure but the hardness of this tool says carbide. Whatever, even if it is not, it is the best, most efficient primer pocket cleaner I have bought and used. And believe me... I have reloaded more rounds than, well you know! I have been through a few thousand rounds with it and it shows no sign of dulling. The cleaning head is of a meat tenderizer design, cross-hatched. I don't bother with the handle. Mount this in your drill press and just a touch to the pocket does the trick. It's FAST! The fit is snug so there's no angling right or left to get missed spots. This one does it in one fell swoop without shaving metal. Excellent! ^..^~~

After 11000+ rounds of 30BR shooting.. 04-01-2018

My arms are old so some extra power is needed... and I loved this Hornady idea and bought this one and did hope I did not get a lemon cos I did read the reviews about this trio.

Pros the design is perfect, low noise and user friendly, good torque.

Cons, there is more side play in the outputs than I like and after 30 pc brass, was using nylon brush and a patch on another output the left lower output started to give noise when not in use and after about 50 pc that noise was always when not in use and I thought to my self that this machine would not last and cos I am a machinist I took the plastic cover off and saw that there was no bushings or grease on anything except inside of the plastic gears so when you pull the case off the brush the plastic gear rubs against the plastic end cover on the inside. Well I had on my hand a TM ultra bolt grease and lubed inside of the plastic cover just small and went through next 50 pc of brass and all was fine. I took of the cover to see if I saw any scoring marks on the cower on the inside or the gears but they looked perfect so I gave it more grease. 100 pc later no noise. IF hornady had only put more effort to this plastic end plate this would had been a grand tool but they didn't so only one star. Will mine last with regular greasing well time will tell.... kind regards

Nice American Made Tool 10-05-2012

I have been using one of these for maybe a year now. The build quality looks very nice. The motor turns slow and has plenty of torque for its intended purposes. The operation is smooth and quiet. The motor shaft has no noticeable play in it.

The unit is quite small and light, so it stores easy, taking little space. However in operation you do need to use one hand to hold the unit in place as you press a case against whatever tooling is installed. If you don't the unit will slide across the work bench.

It came with an inside and an outside chanfering / deburring tool. Hornady also makes a very nice set of serated or checkered primer pocket cleaners that work well on this machine.

I would buy one again if I need another of this type of tool.
