I travel to take shooting lessons. I shoot hundreds of rounds in a day. I need to clean an lube my guns each night. I can do that in the motel with no problem and no odor. Most all of the carbon comes off with a dry Q tip (after the gun has been treated). Then 1 or 2 Q tips soaked in Fire clean finishes the job. I put the gun back together and run a bore snake a couple of times and I'm good.

I've tried a lot of CLP products with marginal results, and on the advice of a buddy I tried his Fire Clean...this stuff really cleans as advertised and the more you use it the easier it gets to clean your gun time after time. Easy to carry in your range box and goes a long way for a small bottle.

Gums Up (04-02-2017)

I was at first impressed with this product that was applied to weapons that were used frequently, within a month of application. They were easy to clean. Unfortunately for weapons that aren't used for six or so months, the product gums up to the point that a 1911 slide was slowed on recoil and failed to eject a spent casing. After cleaning to remove the product the 1911 was fully functional again. I removed the product from all treated weapons, but overlooked one. Today I attempted to fire that one, a XD SC that had been treated with this product a year ago. Not only was the slide slow to move, but the striker wouldn't put a dent in the primer. Thankfully I was at a range and not in a defensive situation. After removing this product, and lubing with RemOil, the XD SC functions perfectly.

Awesome Stuff! (17-02-2017)

Love the stuff. I send more rounds down range in a year than most people through competition, training and military operations. I've never had an issue with weapons gumming up or malfunctioning. I have a pistol barrel that has over 30k rounds through it and the bore is still shiny and accurate as ever. The only time I've seen people have any complaints with FireClean is when they don't follow the instructions and pour a quarter of the bottle in a weapon because they want to use it like standard army CLP. Use a little common sense and this product will protect your weapons as long as you have them.

Great lubricant (17-02-2017)

I was introduced to Fire Clean a few years by getting a sample from a friend. Since then I have used it exclusively on my duty weapons, my EDC pistol and all of my teaching firearms. It has worked flawlessly and cleanup after shooting is a simple rag and coating of Fire Clean. I have not seen a maintenance malfunction since I switched over to it.

Be careful if used for long term storage (01-01-2018)

I started using this product a couple of years ago and it did a wonderful job of keeping my ARs clean and lubricated. I used it in my 22 suppressors and it made cleaning very easy. It is a great product if you regularly use your firearm. However, I cleaned and lubricated my âgo toâ ARs that I keep in my house and the trunk of my car. I read a review saying that the Fireclean would become sticky if left on for a long time. I did not shoot either one for over 9 months and when I next tried to use them I could not get the bolt open on either gun. The Fireclean had dried out to a wax like substance that was very sticky. I had to disassemble the upper from the lower and tie the charging handle latch open and drive the bolt out of the upper with a hammer and wooden dowel. It was completely gummed up with a thick wax like substance. Some Kroil loosen every think up and after disassembly 30 minutes in an ultrasonic cleaner everything came clean. The gas ring were completely fouled with the wax like substance. I had a simular experience with one of my 22 suppressors. I did not use it for about 9 months and then ran 50 rounds through it and when I disssembled it, it was very gummed up with a wax liked substance. Fire clean works great if you regularly shoot, but donât use it for long term storage!
